This course is suitable for students who have already taken some lessons, but still need help with the basic technique. |

TRISTAN LE GOVIC (Brittany)In this workshop, Tristan will teach you different types of traditional Breton tunes, such as slow airs, marches, songs and dances with different styles, modes and rhythms. Tristan will then guide you step by step through basic arrangements appropriate to this music. Learners by ear or from written music are equally welcome. You are encouraged to bring a recoding device.

EIRA LYNN-JONESYou are invited to be part of a harp ensemble, which will perform on the Festival Stage. We will explore the Welsh legend of Cantre’r Gwaelod, a land flooded by the sea, echoing the rising ocean levels today. Some music to be sent in advance and further sessions will introduce new techniques and sounds.

AISLING LYONS (Ireland)Aisling will be teaching traditional tunes from her repertoire and will be teaching syncopated left-hand accompaniment. Aisling will experiment with the changing of rhythms and with loosening the left hand to allow the accompaniment to move more freely. Aisling will give ideas surrounding intervals and chord progressions, the aim being giving traditional tunes a more complex, contemporary and edgy feel!
