Meet The Team

Anne Denholm

Patron
Former Official Harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales
"I am delighted to be announced as the first Patron of Harp on Wight, a unique harp festival now in its fourth year.
I was honoured to be approached, as Harp on Wight had already come to my attention due to its innovative programme of events, support of young artists, and relentlessly cheerful and enthusiastic welcome. I greatly look forward to visiting the island for the first time to perform at and attend this year’s festival, between 20th-24th October 2017, and to working with the committee over the longer term."

Anna Sacchini

Founder, Festival Director and Treasurer
"One of my dreams has always been to attract angels! Organising a harp festival has given me a great opportunity to make that dream come true."

Vic King

Chairman
"I am from a music partnership called Vaguely Sunny. We have been promoting folk, roots and acoustic music on the Isle of Wight since 1996. I have always loved the sound of the harp, and so I was delighted to accept when asked by Anna to be part of the original team."

Tony O'Nions

Founder and Assistant Director
"As part of Vaguely Sunny Promotions, I was delighted to become part of the team as Assistant Director."

Carol Jaye

Committee Member
"As Chair of Ryde Arts for 18 years I am proud of its aim to offer participatory opportunities to experience and create in a variety of art forms, by joining the Harp on Wight team my eyes and ears are opened to new and exciting possibilities which can enrich the town and the wider Island."

Merlynna Johnson

Committee Member
"Harps have been my passion for over twenty years.  I love both playing and listening to many genres of harp music and am particularly drawn to harp as therapy. "

Helen Hankey

Committee Member
"As with any harpist deciding to move to a new location; my first google session was ‘Harp, Isle of Wight’ and led me to this wonderful festival. We arrived in September 2018, were blown away by the brilliance of the talent and quality of the workshops for the festival in October 2018. I joined the committee in November and am absolutely delighted to support a group who are making Ana’s dream of a ‘harp island’ come true. We are excitedly looking forward to a bright future."

Patrick Joyce

Committee Member
"I first became involved with Harp on Wight four years ago when I joined the make your own harp workshopI really enjoyed the experience and at the end had working harp to be proud of.
I then joined the committee to help
out in anyway I can and where possible to ensure Harp on Wight remains a very special musical event
for Ryde and the Island."

Roberto Campana

Programme Design
"We were having coffee in Michelangelo's one day in 2014 when Anna told us about her dream of a harp festival. Anna was determined to make it a reality, and her excitement was contagious. She needed help with producing the programme and we offered. Simple as that. It has been great being part of the team from the beginning and watching "Harp on Wight" grow with each year."
