Fran Barsby is a British harpist known for her passion and innovation. Fran made her professional debut in 2008 at St John’s Smith Square, London, and has since performed in venues across Europe. She graduated in 2015 from Birmingham Conservatoire and is enjoying a flourishing career as a solo harpist and with groups such as the international harp ensemble, Aurumite (flute and harp duet), and various orchestras. As Pilgrim Harps’ Online Marketing Coordinator and Resident Harpist, Fran performs and conducts master classes.

The Harp Studio is the home of PoppyHarp, a lever harp showroom for Pilgrim Harps and PoppyHarp publishing, through which Fran helps young professional musicians and composers publish their work. She particularly enjoys organising ‘Come and Try the Harp’ events such as she will be doing for Harp on Wight. Her mission is to inspire harpists everywhere, and create more resources for them. Fran’s busy life also includes creating websites for young musicians and charities, performing in concerts and at weddings, and playing in hospitals and hospices as a music and health musician.
