Come and try Workshop at Rhythmtree Festival

We held a successful workshop at the Rhythmtree Festival on July 13th.
Anna and Merlynna were busy throughout the 2 and a half hour session.
We hope to return to Rhythmtree next year.

We have a brand new shiny name! We are now called:

HARP ON WIGHT INTERNATIONAL

Over our festivals long weekend, we showcase musicians from around the globe and invite harpists from near or far to enjoy our fantastic events. Because of this, our name has changed to reflect our global outreach to all harpists around world.

Anne Denholm announced as Harp on Wight Patron

Former Official Harpist to HRH the Prince of Wales

A message from Anne
"I am delighted to be announced as the first Patron of Harp on Wight, a unique harp festival now in its fourth year.

I was honoured to be approached, as Harp on Wight had already come to my attention due to its innovative programme of events, support of young artists, and relentlessly cheerful and enthusiastic welcome. I greatly look forward to visiting the island for the first time to perform at and attend this year’s festival, between 20th-24th October 2017, and to working with the committee over the longer term."

Diana Wood

We were  sad to learn  - on 10th December 2018 - of  the passing of Diana Wood.
Diana enjoyed playing the harp, and first joined our team in March 2015. She was our Chairperson from November 2016  to January 2018.
Diana made an invaluable contribution to the progress that Harp on Wight has made to date. She helped to define more clearly our aims and objectives to enable us to move forward in a more structured way.
Her speciality was fundraising and her considerable efforts in that area were instrumental in helping to improve our overall financial position. It was Diana's idea that we should appoint a Festival Patron and that we should approach Anne Denholm to take on the role.
She will be much missed.
