CHRIS TUTTON: POET

​Chris Tutton is the critically acclaimed and award-winning author of eight collections of poetry, the most recent being “Short Chapters From Sunset”.Coined by Ned Sherrin as “the master of the short poem” his work has also been described as “absolutely beautiful” by Alexander Waugh with Iain Anderson of BBC Scotland noting that it was “philosophy in poetry form” and Sunday Times commenting on its “dramatic passion and dignity”.
“The Failing of Angels” his debut novel was published in 2020.

His performances have taken him across the UK and Europe, performing at high profile literature festivals such as Hay Festival, the Edinburgh International Book Festival, Cheltenham Literature Festival etc. And in various London Theatres, including the Lyric, Hammersmith and Oldham Coliseum. A popular compere and host, he has launched many festivals and events, including Westwords at the BBC, White City and has worked in partnership with the BBC RAW project, London Libraries Development Agency and Active Life/Active Mind in Devon.
He has appeared widely on television and radio, including many appearances on the BBC, ITV network and Channel 4. He has also been Resident Poet on Carlton TV. His radio appearances include Loose Ends, BBC Radio 4, Shaun Keaveny, BBC6 Music, Mark Radcliffe, BBC Rdio 1 and Radio 5.

LUCY NOLAN: HARPIST

​Lucy Nolan is an Award-winning International Harpist, passionate about challenging and evolving new styles of harp playing through collaboration, composition and performance. Her work has ranged from performing as soloist at the World Harp Congress in Hong Kong to playing on Hollyoaks and ITV’s drama, Victoria.
She has featured on BBC Radio 3 and 4 and regularly works with orchestras such as the Halle, Manchester Concert Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and the Royal Northern Sinfonia, invited to perform in renowned music venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Opera House and Cadogan Hall. She has premiered her own compositions and other composers’ works at events such as’ Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, The Lowry Theatre and New Music North West Festival and composed and recorded the music for a short film for Channel 4 with her contemporary group, SHOAL. Her ground breaking work with Carnatic singer, Supriya Nagarajan has taken her all over the world from Manchester Jazz Festival to Thessaloniki Concert Hall, from Lambeth Palace to Jaipur Literature Festival.
Lucy began her education at Oxford University and the Royal Northern College of music from where she graduated with Distinctions in postgradurate degrees and was the recipient of a number of prizes and a finalist in the RNCM’s Gold Medal weekend, the highest accolade awarded for performance.
