Heritage Harps is a bespoke harp workshop based in Torquay, Devon, founded and run by master craftsman Terry Heritage. With over four decades of experience in musical instrument making and teaching, Terry handcrafts each harp using premium solid hardwoods such as maple, walnut, cherry, and mahogany, avoiding inferior materials like beech or plywood. The soundboards are crafted from quarter-sawn, slow-grown Western Red Cedar, selected for its acoustic quality and stability.
Each harp is fitted with Camac levers and features steel-wound bass strings, carbon fibre, and nylon, producing a powerful, sustaining, bell-like tone. Standard features include decorative inlay bandings, fitted LED lights, and optional pickups for amplification. Custom soundboard artwork, such as Celtic motifs or floral designs, is also available. For more information, visit www.heritageharps.co.uk or contact Terry directly at 01803 690975 or [email protected] |

The Clarsach Society
Etablished in 1931 at the close of the National Mòd in Dingwall, The Clarsach Society’s founding principle is to advance the clarsach and its music, and to preserve its place in the national life of Scotland and in the wider world harp community. The constitution states that the objects of The Society shall be “to advance the education of the public in the music and the playing of the clarsach”. This is done principally via its 13 Branches, each of which organise events, courses and classes to suit the particular needs and enthusiasms of its members. |
